First-Time Ranking for Company, Which is Only Tax Service To Make Annual List
PARSIPPANY, N.J., September 14, 2007 – As it gears up for the 2008 tax season, Jackson Hewitt Tax Service Inc. (NYSE: JTX) has been named one of America’s fastest growing companies by FORTUNE magazine. Jackson Hewitt, an industry leader providing full service individual federal and state income tax preparation, came in at # 95 in the widely-read annual ranking, which appears in the September 17, 2007, issue of the publication.
Jackson Hewitt is the only tax preparation service named to the 2007 FORTUNE 100 Fastest-Growing Companies rankings, which are based on a number of factors, including: a company’s revenue growth rate; its earnings per share (EPS) growth rate; and the three-year annualized total return to investors for the period ended June 30, 2007. In compiling this list, FORTUNE considers American businesses that have been publicly traded for at least three years and that have revenue and market capitalization of at least $50 million.
