(NYSE:JTX) office locations nationwide kick off the 2005 tax season by introducing new increased disclosure regarding their product choices, as well as once again providing its customers with efficient filing through electronic filing (IRS e-file).
 
This tax season Jackson Hewitt is taking a leading role in setting new standards in disclosure for the tax preparation industry as each Jackson Hewitt office will provide its customers additional, clear and concise disclosure information regarding a customer's choice of products in connection with the preparation of their tax return.
 
As part of the tax preparation process, Jackson Hewitt makes available a variety of refund-related financial products. Committed to providing information prior to and throughout the tax preparation process, this increased disclosure will further inform customers of their varied options. From revised refund-options desk mats to information disclosure wall posters, customers nationwide will see an even clearer presentation of their options, including the fast and free option - IRS direct deposit. For customers who choose a Refund Anticipation Loan, they will receive additional disclosure, including a one-page information sheet that identifies alternatives that are low- or no-cost to the consumer and further outlines fees associated with the loan.

Over the past 18 tax seasons, IRS electronic filing (IRS e-file) has grown, providing users with a near perfect accuracy rate, faster refunds, acknowledgement of receipt within 48 hours, easy payment options, privacy and security. Last year alone, almost 62 million individual income tax returns were electronically filed, with nearly 70% of those returns being filed by a tax professional. This tax season, the IRS reports an anticipated 133 million individual income tax returns will be filed, with over 50% of those expected to be electronically filed. *
